The nominative category « Almasdar » in Arabic is a spell-out form of the root in a nominative context “ DP” by acquiring an affix or a nominative pattern indicating a noun form.

This nominative category has the same argument structure as that of the verb of the same root.

This triggers, many questions about the mechanisms responsible for this argument structure formation.

To deal with this issue which rises other issues as: The opposition of the transitive and intransitive event structure, the ambiguity of a event noun in passive and active forms, and the losing of the Almasdar of its argument structure, we going in this research, to adopt the root hypothesis by considering that the “ Almasdar “ is a nominalization at the syntactic level, and those issues related mainly to the semantic structure of this category.
