Abstract EN

As the Algerian economy is significantly linked to hydrocarbon sector, it has witnessed, like the rest of the economies of oil-exporting countries, in the beginning of this century, the increase in foreign currency inflows due to the rise in oil prices, which open the way to foreign financial flows to Algeria.

This access of financial flows level is considered as challenge for the Algerian authorities to deal with these foreign exchange reserves in a way to avoid the economy harmful effects of such financial abundance through adaptation and activation of monetary policy to the new situation, which would make it reclamed modern tools and policies inorder to reduce the negative effects of this surplus such as the sterilization policy.
