Abstract EN

Study deal with Spatial Analysis of transport accidents on Cairo/ Alexandria agricultural road in El-Behera governorate, through the study of road characteristics, causes of accidents, the distribution of accident Numbers and the human losses caused by them, and the degree of seriousness in the road according to the accidents in 2012 and various years.

The study relied on a GIS in the spatial analysis of the accident numbers, deaths and injuries on the agricultural road, through the analysis of Line Density per kilometer, the classification of road kilometers according to the degree of danger based on a set of criteria using the weighted overlay analysis, and the field work in monitoring Agricultural Road Properties.

The most important results of the study included, firstly the road characterized by Straightness, secondly the disruption of the car wheel occupy the major reason of accidents by about one-third of their number, thirdly Damanhour/Abu Hunmus and Kafr El-Dawar/Alexandria are the most dangerous links in the Road according to the number of accidents, fourthly the kilometer 190, which represents the southern entrance of Kafr Dawar city is the most dangerous part of the agricultural road in 2012 according to weighted overlay, and finally the very dangerous kilometers which recorded the accidents in the first half of the years 2008, 2012, 2014 formed more than Two-fifths the length of the road.
