The mismanagement of transboundary water decreases levels of pure water and obstructs sustainable development.

This necessitates countries’ collaboration to avoid ensuing discrepancies.

Water has frequently united peoples and societies.

Since 1948 and up till now, there have been 37 water conflicts as well as negotiations to solve 295 water international crises.

Treaties consider calculating the amount and quality of water, the wavering ratios, and the geomorphology of water beds, in addition to securing the means to settle disputes and set clear-cut and flexible means to share water.

Agreements also set data bases and establish organizations to disseminate awareness amongst residents to grasp the significance of agreements and the means to share costs and boost economic development.

Furthermore, national and regional authorities provide funds and motivate political will and commitment to update and implement laws in an integrative way for all concerned parties.

This study relates the transboundary water issue to geographic dimensions and political accords on Nile water management.

Cases in point are Rome Protocol no 1891, Adis Ababa 1902, London 1906, Rome 1925, as well as, amongst others, the 1929 Agreement.
