The concept of women`s quota in the Jordanian election system appeared since 2003, when it was amended the Election Law to the House of Representatives No (34) of 2001 and its amendments, which give Jordanian women six additional seats reserved for women only in the House of Representatives,Hence, this study aimed to identify the nature of the women`s quota in the Jordanian election system, and to identify the extent of the participation and representation of women in Jordanian parliaments (2007- 2013), And the impact of the women`s quota in the election system on the representation of women in parliaments (2007- 2013).

The study is based on a hypothesis that there is a correlative relationship between women’s quota in the Jordanian election system and between the representation of women in parliaments, The study used descriptive and analytical approach through description and analysis of the women’s quota system, and the extent of their impact on women’s representation in parliaments, and the study used the legal approach, through dealing with women’s quota in the election system as the legal texts that help women to participate in politics.

The study concluded that the Election Law to the House of Representatives granted Jordanian women a number of additional seats (women`s quota) reserved for women with allowing her to free competition on the other seats, the study proved that the women`s quota in the election laws reflected positively on increasing the participation and representation of Jordanian women in the House of Representatives, and that the women`s quota is not stipulated in the Jordanian Constitution of 1952 and its amendments, but the text came out in the Election Law to the House of Representatives.The study recommended the continued application of the women`s quota system in the Election Law to the House of Representatives, and increase the number of additional seats (women`s quota) for women in the House of Representatives, and to generalize women`s quota in the various elected assemblies.
