Abstract EN

The discovery of the Sanskrit language in the 18th century brought out a dramatic development in linguistics.

Some researchers conducted a variety of comparative studies, from which they found out instrumental results concerning historical relationships.

The orientalists benefited from these studies in comparing the constituents of the linguistic families, so-called Semitic family.

They conducted original and unprecedented studies in languages in general and Arabic language, which still has some of the common features of the Semitic languages.

Among the most significant linguistic phenomenon are the morphological measures in general and the methods of the formation of a four-letter root.

These studies offered a vindication of the thesis that some expressions that begin with Hā, can be considered a four-letter measure without any addition in Arabic, some of which can be considered a three-letter roots since there is hafacal, which was standard in some Semitic languages; and this expression is morphologically parallel to Afacal in Arabic.

This study emphasizes that there are ignored survivals of this expression in Arabic, as can be observed in some Arabic modern dialects.
