Iwakura" mission 1871-1873, is the most famous Japanese diplomatic and education mission in the 19thcentury to the West; the new regime "Meiji" was concerned to ratify the treaties signed between Western countries and tokugawa regime after the arrival of American Commodore Perry and his "black ships" in 1853-1854; the question of reconstructing the new Japan, and strong competitor was the real purpose of this mission which happened in a decisive phase in Japan contemporary.

This mission has visited important Western countries in order to diversify the sources of knowledge on the horizon to integrate it into the Japanese personal privacy.
