Research title: Deviation in the Poetic Works of Shawqi Bezaie The purpose, methods and results of this research is to shed light towards the nature of the term Deviation and how the poet Shawqi Bezae employed it in his poetry.

The methods that were used to tackle the deviations were to investigate simile, metonymy and metaphor in his poetry and how the indications were expressed through these technical methods into new meanings.

The most important results is that Shawqi had adopted deviation as a method to depict a poetic image through employing the potentials of the language to achieve an intensive poetic language.
