The religious and educational facilities considered one of the most important landmarks in Islamic cities, in particularly ; the masjeds (mosques), Zawaya (small mosques), Wakfs, and Katatib (small schools).

Culture in Algeria linked to these facilities, because the education is primarily based on general knowledge, and traditional culture.

These cultural facilities play important roles in the community of the Ottoman Algeria.

This study deals with role of these cultural centers in social life in Algeria in the late Ottoman era during the period of the sixteenth century, and nineteenth-century, such as mosques, wakfs, Zawaya, Katatib and libraries were going according to planned system by the Ottoman administration.
