This paper addresses the Onomatopoeic image in AbiAlhasan Altihami's Raeeya (an arabic poem that ends with the letter r) since it is one of the masterpieces of Arabic eulogistic poetry throughout ages.

Many critics in different eras had shown interest in this poem yet there was no clear justification for this.

Thus، the study will present a selective analysis for this text from the viewpoint of Onomatopoeic image to see how sounds and images are in harmony in the text.

The paper will also include a brief introduction to the poet.

It will، then، present some modern and traditional critical views on the relationship between sound and meaning.

Then the reasons behind selecting this text will be specified.

What will follow is an applied study based on the analytical approach to read the text from the perspective of sound.

In this way، we can realize the undisclosed aesthetic values that had attracted the critics' attention.

The researcher has found out many insights to be presented in the conclusion of the research.
