Abstract EN

Brought about modern technologies fundamental changes in the libraries turned many libraries paper to electronic libraries and digital libraries were transferring collections from paper form to electronic form so as to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness in the storage , preservation and processing , transmission, information retrieval and made available to the beneficiaries .

The advent of the digital office environment to the emergence of a number of legal problems , the most important problem of the special problems of intellectual property rights and copyright protection .

This study defined the digital library requirements and established stages and dealt with intellectual property rights under the new digital environment , and the reality of Sudanese legislation to protect intellectual property rights.

The study aimed to illustrate the stages of the digitization of library materials , taking into account the technical measures and technical copyright protection .

Been followed descriptive analytical method for the induction of intellectual production in the Arab and foreign subject of digitization and the development of legislation and Sudanese laws in the matter of copyright protection .

The study concluded that it does not contain the instructions to take advantage of the libraries in Sudan, any regulations or guidelines provide for the protection of the copyright or intellectual property for digital information sources available .

The study recommended that attention is required to protect intellectual property rights and to encourage innovation and the development of scientific research , and must be additional provisions of the new legislation to curb cybercrime related to copyright and intellectual property.
