Abstract EN

Having written about secularism, ibn Almuqafa was accused of polytheism.

As secularism is the opposite of religion, this paper focuses this opposition to show whether his works are actually dedicated to either of them or not.

Consequently, the paper poses these questions: What is the concept of religion and secularism? Does ibn Almuqafa´s prose include either of them or not? Which does ibn Almuqafa tend to depict more in his prose? Why does he choose either of them? So, the paper attempts to answer these questions adopting an analytical approach.

It shows the relationship among the three main concepts: Religious, Secular, and literary.

Then, it discusses the literariness of ibn Almuqafa´s works in relation to his line of thoughts .

The paper finally ends with a conclusion which sums up the main results.

The research found that the secular Ibn almuqafa, which won much luck in his writings, was far from hostility to religion especially Islam, and that its orbit is the literary world alone.
