An Investigation of the Terms and Conditions of the Reconciliation Event between Al Hassan Bin Ali Bin Abi Talib and Muawiyah Bin Abi Sufyan This paper aims at providing a historical investigation of the terms and conditions of the reconciliation event between Alhasan bin Ali bin Abi Taleb and Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan.

The reconciliation resulted in the abdication of the caliphate by Alhasan bin Ali bin Abi Taleb after the death of his father, who was the forth caliph of the first caliphate period, to Muawiyah.

Many controversies have been raised about the terms and conditions of this reconciliation.

The study traces the authenticity of the historical anecdotes that surrounded the reconciliation event and its terms and conditions in the light of historical and modern criticism in order to arrive at a clear picture of the details of the event.
