Abstract EN

The study aims at determining the theoretical framework and the exponent theories related to the problem of unemployment in Algeria and its determinants by analyzing the impact of the exponent variables on the dependent variable (unemployment), in addition to estimating and building a model that enables us to determine the affecting variables that determine unemployment during the period 1985 -2014.

The study found differences in factors that determine unemployment according to economic theories, but in practical terms, it has concluded that there is the presence of a two -direction causal relationship between unemployment and national rates on the one hand; and one direction between the unemployment rate and the rest of the variables on the other, in addition to different relationships of statistically significant positives and negatives between unemployment and other variables for retardations rate.
