Abstract EN

This paper attempts to investigate the influence of external and internal factors on profitability of Islamic insurance companies (IIC) in Jordan.

These factors are: inflation, economic growt h, firm size, leverage ratio, liquidity risk, and loss rate).

For this purpose, an unbalanced panel dataset of two (IIC) were used and tested using panel data regression technique over the period of Q1 2008-Q4 2013.

The results indicates that the factors that affect return on asset of (IIC) in Jordan are; inflation, firm size, leverage ratio, and loss rate) while economic growth, and liquidity risk on the other hand, did not have any significant impact with firm’s performance.
