In times of rapid change, we, as information specialists, have to reinvent ourselves.

In general, technology and the changing needs and skills of our users are affecting our libraries.

It is a fact that technology is the present and the future.

Technologies have forever changed the way that librarians serve their patrons, and all indications are that this change will continue.

Each library has to develop individual solutions to the dilemma of the need for of specialized skills to support the electronic services with no increase in staff.

The basic elements for such a solution are: utilization of the available librarians, targeted recruiting of new librarians at the entry-level, and creative supervisory practices.
