This research studies an uncommon technique in grammatical discipline; which I have named the unification of variants.

This technique was developed by Abu Ali Al-Farsi (377 A.

H.).

In his book Al-eghfal, Abu Ali extracts common grammatical factors (functions) from various expressions belonging to various grammatical categories.

Through this technique he upgrades the discipline of Arabic grammar from the standard level of the formation of regulative rules, to the insightful level of the explanation of the general linguistic behavior
