The present study examines the digital novel, which is a new type of creative fiction that has appeared recently in Arabic and World Literature.

This kind of novel has become popular due to the widespread use of digital technology, the various multimedia programs and the expansion of the internet in this modern age.

These aspects have encouraged the researcher to study this kind of novel, identify its types and directions and describe its technical nature within new and technical contexts: some of these aspects include the hypertext in addition to discussing different perspectives about the social and cultural acceptance of digital literature, in general, and the digital novel, in particular.

All this is done within the framework of the digital culture which represents a new creative reality and a challenge based on creative production in different genres of literature.

The researcher also elaborates on the two types of the digital novel: the networked and the interactive ones along with their features.
