Abstract EN

This study aims, particularly, at exploring the very short story genre in Jordan through scrutinizing the collection of the Jordanian short story writer, Mohammad Tamliyah, which is entitled “ Ipso Facto, to her.” The study also examines the stylistic techniques used by Tamliyah along with his literary diction, the beginning of his text, the end, irony, fragmentation, and intertextuality.

The two researchers also attempt to shed light on the problematic concept of “The very short story genre,” and they have expounded the literature review that center around the emergence of this particular genre and its gradual development.

This study, in nutshell, attempts to substantiate the literary genre of the very short story through depicting its defining aspects and techniques that vary roughly from one writer to another.

Furthermore, the study unveils the very applicable aspect of Tamliyah, as a talented writer who writes against the grain socially and politically speaking.

In other words, such narrative style, as examined in this study, correlates consistently with Tamlyiah’s unique virtuosity, spontaneous sincerity, and narrative characterization by which the reader very often gets moved and shocked.
