Abstract EN

Small industries are considered the cornerstone of economic and social development in various countries worldwide.

This study aims to quantify small-scale industries in Saudi Arabia, where it reached 3132 factories by the end of 2015, employing 103,996 workers and with an equity capital of 13812.94 million Riyals.

This study aims to identify the pattern of growth and development of small industries in Saudi Arabia, and the analysis of the geographical distribution of these factories among the regions by using multiple statistical methods such as industrial strength coefficient, Industrial endemicity coefficient, the coefficient of diffusion.

As well as shed light on the problems and obstacles faced by those industries.

The data used was extracted from Ministry of Industry, industrial statistics department, and the study variables included the date of production, the number of factories, and the number of workers, and the amount of invested capital, and the size of the production capacity and the location of those small factories.
