Abstract EN

The study area is located between the cities of Luxor and Qena, Where the city of Luxor is the largest historic tourist city in the world, Most of the monuments are located on the banks of the River Nile and neighboring deserts, so these areas needed to protect them from the dangers of flooding, it represents great importance to Egypt and the world.

This research is interested to study of applied geomorphology to water body, floodplain of the study area, also study of the characteristics of some of the main valleys that are drains in the study area and its evaluate dangers on the region.

In this area there are series about 28 Wadies whish drain mostly limestone plateau.

The thesis consists of six chapters preceded by an introduction that includes the study area and determine the features and the reasons that prompted the student to choose the topic, the aim of the study, previous studies, the role and stages of field studies.

by using data collection, manipulation and Analysis form topographic maps, fieldwork, GPS and supervised classification depending on GIS & RS software›s.

The study concluded with results and recommendation that will be useful and necessary for the area and the priorities of face the dangers.
