Association of hemoglobin and some biochemical parameters with diabetic nephropathy disease

The present study was designed to investigate the hemoglobin blood (Hb) and some biochemical parameters serum creatinine, lipid profile and urine albumin excretion of type2 diabetic patients with various degrees of nephropathy.

The study included 60 patients and 30 healthy subjects (control group) presented at Nasiriyah Endocrine centre, Thi Qar province, Iraq.

The diabetic subjects were divided into 3 groups (20 for each group with 1-5 years, 6-10 years and more than 10 years of infected with DM.

The results indicated a significant decrease (p < 0.01) of Hb.

In patients with DM compared with control group.

The results explained a significant increase (p < 0.01) blood sugar in patients with DM compared with control group.

The present study showed a significant increase (p < 0.01) of serum creatinine in GIII also, the results showed a significant increase (p ≤ 0.01) of serum cholesterol and triglyceride in GII and GIII compared with the control group.

The results showed a significant decrease (p ≤ 0.01) of HDL level in GIII compared with the control group.

The present study showed a significant increase (p < 0.01) of urine albumin excretion in all groups compared with the control group.
