Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to investigate the causes of underachievement among school students in in Salfit and south of Nablus Directorates, and find out ways to cure this problem.

The researcher used the descriptive field survey, the study population consisted of all supervisors and counselors in the upbringing of Salfit and south of Nablus Directorate, the study sample included the entire study population of 115 supervisors and counselors.

The results showed statistically significant differences on the total score of the instrument depending on the sex variable in favor of females, As well as the results showed no statistically significant differences on the total score of the instrument depending on each of the following variables (specialty, qualification, experience, marital status, nature of work and the Directorate).

In light of these results, the researcher suggests the following recommendations: 1) Continuous communication between the family and the school and cooperation in the follow-up of students.

2) Use of teaching aids and educational technology most effective because of their importance in the teach latecomers curriculum.

3) The need for the realization of human material and reduce teacher redress of quotas.

4) Lengthening the school day any increase school hours so that the school can balance between education and activities.
