Abstract EN

This study titled theater and social change in South Sudan (Case Study of: Theatre of oppressed techniques) aims to utilize theatrical form which invented by Brazilian director Augusto boal , which holds a new deferent concepts in theatre performance , to contribute in solving some of the cultural and social issues which can lead to the destabilization of the social fabric and then absence of peace and reconciliation among the communities , through working on the theater of oppressed techniques , which include (Forum theater - invisible theater – image theatre).

The study examined the history and concept of the theater of oppressed from global and local level with selecting some performed models , therefore the study come out with some results indicates that the theater of oppressed techniques have been applied in Sudan and South Sudan through theatrical performances discussed education and social issues , some of them committed to the principles of techniques and some of them failed and confused between that and epic theater , especially in South Sudan between 2014 – 2015, for the lack of experience and knowledge about how this techniques work , therefore the study recommends that the theatrical institutions have to adopt this new experiment as a mechanism for peace and social change.
