Abstract EN

This study aims at exploring the role of technology in the production of murals as well as the development of the concept of murals as seen by the viewers.

This is achieved through realizing both artistic vision and function of the mural painting.

The study managed to realize some of these techniques which are very much related to architecture.

Mural painting includes a huge range of techniques and styles.

The researcher presents in his study five types of the said techniques which are: Tempera, Fresco, Acrylic, which are considered as pigments, beside mosaic and glass, which are more related to architecture.

The study achieved some results which are given as follows : There is a wider scope of the concept of mural painting which includes architectural elements that are so closely related to each other.

Artists dealing with mural painting benefited very much from materials, techniques environmental and social conditions they are involved in, and hence discovered and developed different styles and treatment which vary according to the nature of their environment and the period of time and the type of architecture dominant in those areas
