Abstract EN

This study aims to collect the views of Ibn Hisham Al-Ansari in his book entitled “Travel questions on syntax”.

Ibn Hisham has encompassed and approached the views of the previous grammarians preceding him with analysis, discussion, assessment and rebuttal.The importance of this research lies in collecting the views of Ibn Husham explaining syntactic questions, it also stems from the originality of his syntactic approach.The study follows the descriptive analytical method in the collection, discussion and analysis of Ibn Hisham’s views and comparing them with the views of other grammarians.This research paper is divided into an introduction, preamble and three chapters.

The introduction explores the approach adopted in the research while the preamble introduces the biography Ibn Hisham and a review of his book.

The first chapter discusses Ibn Hisham’s views similar to those of Basra grammarians, and the second chapter contains the views similar to those of Kofa grammarians.

The third chapter includes his original views.

The study is concluded by the findings showing that Ibn Hisham was more similar to Basra School than to Kofa School.
