مجموعة قصصية تضم تسع قصص قصيرة، أهم ما يربط بينها هو ذكاء كاتبها الكاتب الاسترالي المعاصر الموهوب (ماركوس كلارك) الذي يجيد ببراعة فهم مجتمعه و بيئته، و يملك بصرا يستطيع النفاذ إلى الأعماق، و رؤية ما وراء الظواهر الاعتيادية.
تتسم هذه النصوص إذا بالذكاء الشديد في التقاط و تصوير شخصيات المجتمع، و التسلل إلى أعماق النفس، و اكتشاف الخاص و الدال في النماذج الإنسانية التي تتناولها.
في هذه القصص خفة ظل و سخرية لاذعة من النفس و من الآخرين، كما أن فيها حكمة و فهما عميقا لتحولات المجتمع و طبقاته، فهي صورة صادقة أمينة للمجتمع الاسترالي و نمط عيشه، و ما يعتمل في داخله من تحولات في الريف و المدينة و المصانع، و ما يعانيه الإنسان من أجل أن ينسجم مع مجتمعه و يتواءم مع مشكلاته.
تقرأ في هذه المجموعة عن أول يوم في الوظيفة، و عن فتاة السيرك، و عن الذكريات و عن نوازع الشباب و سكينة الشيخوخة، و سوف تعايش بكل وجدانك حكاية النجوم و تتأملها مع مسافر عجوز ستتورط معه نفسيا فإذا بك تمر معه بأقسى تجارب الحياة.
English Abstract
This is a collection of nine stories knit together by the ingenuity of the contemporary and talented Australian writer Marcus Clark.
As a writer, Marcus Clark has a profound understanding of his society, and an insight that can see beyond the mist of everyday phenomena.
These stories, then, reflect the writer’s originality in the choice and portrayal of his characters.
Marcus Clark certainly knows the psychological profile of each of his characters.
