The objective of this study is to compare between two chicken hybrids based on the concentration of nuclear acid DNA and RNA of dams compared with their offspring during three different chick embryo periods, which can be used in selection programs to the improve performance .
Two flocks at sexual maturity reared were white Mezo hybrid (W) and Esa Brown (B) hybrid.
They were fed on productivity diet by 16% protein and 2708 kilocalories / kg energy.
100 fertile eggs were collected and incubated, and then DNA were isolated and purified from embryos tissues.
The concentration of DNA and RNA had been calculated for three different embryonic periods were (7, 14, 21 days) 10 eggs for each embryonic age from each hybrid as F1.
The remaining eggs were left until hatching and then reared in conditions similar to their dams until sexual maturity.
Fertilized eggs were collected and incubated.
Concentration of DNA and RNA were calculated for the same periods above, these embryos considered as the offspring of two hybrids AB, AW F2.
The results showed that the concentration of nucleic acids was generally high in the tissues of offspring and it was significantly (P< 0.01) higher than the values of concentration in terms of each hybrid.
The results also showed that concentration of nuclear acids for dams of hybrid W gave highly significant (P < 0.01) results in high content compared to the values of concentration in the second hybrid B.
Comparing concentrations of nuclear acid between AW and AB revealed that values in the AW offspring was significantly higher as compared to them of AB.
The comparison between the hybrid and their progeny within the periods of different age it was noted that all of 14 days of chick embryo development the concentrations of DNA, RNA in embryos were significantly higher and was followed by embryo age 21 days, then the first period of embryo growth (7) days, which was dropped as compared to 14 and 21 days age.
In conclusion, was it might not be possible to adopt the concentration of nuclear acids in the chicken tissues to compare between the hybrids and cannot be considered as a database used in chicken breeding.
