Inhibition activity of extracts (acetone, ethanol, water) parts of the (Myrtus communis L.) (root, stem, leaves, fruits) with concentrations (25,50,75,100%) was carried out against growth of Grand Gr+ bacteria which were isolated and identified from the pathogenic specimens of The University Children's Hospital bacterial laboratory in Damascus, using agar well diffusion method on Mueller – Hinton medium.

The results showed obvious variation of the effect of Myrtle extracts concentration on studied bacterial growth, increasing concentration causes rise inhibition of bacterial growth, and the results were best at concentration of 100%.

The statistical study showed a positive correlation between the studied variables, whereas, a variation effect was clear on extract type of the same plant's part, and the effect varied according to bacterial species.

The effect of Myrtle extracts was more effective on Gr+ than Gr- bacteria.

Inhibition diameter of stem acetone extracts was 27.78 mm for Staphylococcus epidermids, and fruits acetone extracts was 27.11 mm for S.

aureus, but water extracts were less effective on E.

coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella sp., Enterobacter sp.

and Salmonella sp..

Acetone extracts of fruits and leaves were more effective on growth inhibition of Salmonella, the inhibitory diameter was 21.67, 24.33 mm respectively.

These results, insure that the plant extracts can be used as a natural antibacterial substances, and can be used as a new pharmaceuticals against the serious challenges of health and the problems of increasing bacterial resistance to antibiotics which threaten the public health, decrease the effect of therapy and increase the cost of health care.
