English Abstract

rhc present papet deals with the importance of the "terminological dcfinition” and its rank among the lexical articic structure within the general dictionaries and the school dictionaries with regard to the semantic relations produced by this definition.

In fact, the lexical entries may contain a set of polyscmous words that have 'terminological meaning", in addition to the other linguistic meanings defined by the context.

Ihe present paper explores some examples quoted fioiti general Arabic dictionaries, such as«al-Wassit»,« al-Wajiz » and « al-Mounjid fi al I.ugha al-Arabiyya al-Mouassira », in addition to two school dictionaries : « al-Majani » and ■■ al- Moumtaz » and the French dictionary •* Lc Grand Robert ■>, which we have exploited as a reference to define the polyscmous words that bear rcrminological meaning.
