English Abstract

The Arabic dictionary, organized in general by root.

must organize its Icxical entries within cach of the roots.

'Ihis paper deals with the different ways of organizing these entries: derivational, alphabetical and hybrid ones.

It shows that the alphabetical order pursued by some Arahic dictionaries Is, ag;ainst ail expectations, too complex and not operational.
