In this article we have tried to show, from a corpus of anonymous oral poetry the apparent improvisation in some verbal jousting as those taking place in the prison (the subject of our article) , is in fact an illusion.

The structural analysis of poems identified the archetypes and the modal formulas that structure texts in depth and govern the way each verse poet, so that each piece (izli, sizain) is unique and stereotyped both.

This kind of approach is based on the theory of orality to understand the mechanisms that determine the specificity of the oral poetry, particularly in marginal oratory contests
