Abstract EN

Due to the shortage of water resources in the world, new techniques were used in non traditional water resources management, as harvesting water by using saline water for irrigation.

This water has saline water, drainage water and saline groundwater.

In this research, the drainage water of Al-Jazera irrigation project (water of wadi Almurr) is studied, by using GIS ArcView to make the quantitative morphmetric analysis to determine the morphology and hydrology water balance of wadi Almurr basin, and to prepare the suitable maps for wadi Almurr.

The water of wadi Almurr were been analysed by measuring the EC and the concentrations of(Na,Ca,Mg,K,HCO3,SO4and Cl).

It is classified as moderate saline water, which can be used for irrigation and growing of barley, wheat without decrease in the production, and of other plants which are tolerant or moderately tolerant to the saintly, and can be used for reclamation of saline lands.
