أسباب التحاق الأبناء بالتعليم الخاص في محافظة إربد من وجهة نظر الآباء : دراسة استطلاعية

Abstract EN

The purpose of the study was to examine reasons for enrolling students in private education at Irbid governorate from parents’ perceptions.

The researcher used a 50 items questionnaire to measure (school’s educational curricula, school characteristics, school’s message and philosophy, and consideration for parents).

The questionnaire was administrated to a random sample consisting of 10 private schools selected from a population totaling 467 private education at Irbid governorate.

Each of the selected schools was administrated 50 questionnaires and the total parents’ random sample was 464 of parents.

Results of the study indicated that the most important reasons for parents’ preference to enroll their children in private education were that private education uses English as the instructional language, private education provide transportation for students, classes in private education are not over crowded by students and they are free of physical and psychological aggression.

Furthermore, parents of students in private education demands and advices are taken into consideration, the researcher recommended the need for more attention by private schools with extracurricular activities, providing students with counseling services and provide them with more educational programs.
