A field experiment was carried out in the Al-Rasheed township southern of Baghdad for the 2014 -2015 season to evaluate the impact of water rationalization at adoption shallow furrow and partial irrigation methods with anti- transpiration methods on the yield of wheat and water productivity.

Three methods of irrigation, were used in the experiment including shallow furrow irrigation, partial irrigation and conventional irrigation (as control).

Two types of anti- transpiration (ARMORAX and VAPOR GARD) used in the experiment in addition to control (without spraying ) were used as well.

Factorial trial with RCBD was used with three replications.

Results showed that the methods of shallow furrow irrigation and partial irrigation reduced water requirement by 28 and 30%, respectively, compared to the conventional irrigation (4280 m3 ha-1 season - 1 ), with an expansion in cropped land in area of 0.39 and 0.43 hectares.

Results also indicated shallow furrow irrigation significantly increased grain yield (5957 kg ha-1) with an increment that of 21.8 % compared to conventional irrigation (4891 kg ha-1), biological yield (17801 kg ha-1) with an increment of 16% than conventional irrigation.

Applying shallow furrow irrigation increased WUE and profitability by 69% compared to conventional irrigation while Partial irrigation had an increased of 52%.

Anti- transpiration had no significant differences than most of treated treatment.

However the interaction between irrigation methods and anti- transpiration showed significant differences in their impact on grain yield, biological yield, harvest index, weight of 500 grain, water-use efficiency and profitability of irrigation water
