Abstract EN

This paper tackled the noun phrase in both Arabic and Tama languages.

the aim was to describe the noun phrase; it traces the similarities and differences between the two languages at the level of the noun phrase.

It highlights the problems and grammatical mistakes that are encountered by( Al Tama) people when acquiring Arabic language.

The study has adopted a contrastive method.

The importance of this paper stems from the fact that it benefits the field of designing materials for non-native speakers of Arabic.

It encourages the scholars to pursue linguistic studies in Sudanese languages.

It contributes in overcoming the difficulties that encounter the learners of Tama language when acquiring the syntactic system of Arabic.

It enriches the scientific research in Sudanese languages.

The study has come up with the following most important result: The phrase is an intermediary structure between a word and a sentence.

The study has recommended that: More attention should be paid for studying Sudanese languages and highlighting their linguistic features.
