This study aimed at identifying the reasons why Yarmouk University students select their academic specialization, their attitudes towards them and the relationships with some variables.

The study was conducted on a sample of 403 male and female students of all years at the bachelor degree at the faculties of arts and sciences at Yarmouk University.

To achieve the aims of the study, the researchers distributed two questionnaires to the subject of the study after verifying their validity and reliability.

The first questionnaire consisted of 11 items to identity the reasons why students selected their academic specializations and the second one consisted of 35 items to identity students attitudes toward their specializations.

The result also showed the non-existence of statistically significant differences that could be attributed to sex expect for two reasons, namely, parents desire and social limits and to the advantage of female.

In regard to the second part of the study related to students attitudes toward their specialization, the result came with a medium rank, in a way that showed the existence of statistically significant difference, in the students attitudes towards their specialization in the university admission application from and to the advantage of the first listed one.

There were also statistically significant differences in the students attitudes toward their specialization that could be attributed to the interaction between the variables of faculty and listing order of the university admission application from to the advantage of the students of scientific faculties.

There was no effect of the sex variable in regard to the attitude toward academic specialization.
