Abstract EN

Determination of the draft force by prediction equations is useful for field managers for reduction costs and time .

Thus, this study was conducted to predict draft force ( DF) for a moldboard plow based on moisture content ( MC) , tillage depth ( TD) and operation speed (OS) of the implement .

For this purpose , DF of the moldboard plow was measured at three levels of MC included 11 , 18 and 24 % , three levels of TD included 10 , 20 and 30 cm and three level of OS included 0.38 , 0.61 and 1.02 m/s .

Results of DF measurement at MC of 11 and 24 % were utilized to determine multiple - variable regression models and results of DF measurement at MC of 18 % were used to verify the selected model .

The paired samples ttest results showed that the difference between the DF values predicted by selected model DF= - 1.86 + 0.21MC + 0.01 TD2 + 16.65OS with Adjusted R2 = 0.93 and measured by field test were not statistically significant and r=0.93 to predict draft force of moldboard plow suggested and average of different 5.16kN with standard division 1.94 kN
