Abstract EN

There are many eminent figures in the various sciences and disciplines shone in the Islamic world.

However, there are such scientists who rose in a single discipline and mixed it with other different fields of knowledge such as Farabi who is well-known in philosophy as well as other fields like language, music, astronomy and chemistry.

The research focuses on Farabi's linguistic efforts.

Having clearly seen opinions in the subject, he tackled the origin, development, structures and meanings.

He also wrote about linguistic terminology and phonetic syllables.

As an eminent logician, he tried, in his researches, to state the relation between language and logic such that he has deservingly obtained the title: The Second Teacher, after Socrates.
