Abstract EN

This study defines the meaning and the concept of complimentary objectives of Islamic law.

It clarifies its classifications and its functional dimensions to correct a common idea that these objectives are purely decorative, and they form a desire which has nothing to do with the content.

The research concludes with that desirable rules of sharia are many.

Although they are different in nature and ranks, they can still be unified under one umbrella which is to be allocated as complimentary for essentials and need.

The main purpose for this class of objectives is to demonstrate the Muslims as a unique and distinguished nation, giving others the impression that this nation should be respected virtually and graded highly.

This may lead others, as Ibn Ashur concluded, to convert to Islam and foresee their interests in living with it in peace
