Curiosity, that character which marked the human behavior and whatever specialists differed in classifying it: trait or motivation, they all consider if the source of knowledge and exploration of environnement.

By accumulation of this knowledge, the human civilization path has been changed where the search for new and unfamiliar are the core of innovation.

Despite the different views of schools and specialists about curiosity function, its genealogy of origin branched out across schools and theories; genealogy from psychoanalysis perspective intersects with the process of psychological structure of knowledge, which almost fade its end with the social perspective.

This article aimes to uncover the roots of visions on curiosity in order to clarify its meaning and to clear its image and to understand its function.
