Abstract EN

The study aimed to investigate The Role of Residential Care Homes in Social Adaptation of The Elderly people in Amman.

To achieve study objectives a questionnaire was designed included all social adaptation d field.

The questionnaire was distributed over a sample amounting (203) respondents.

SPSS was used to analyze the gathered data and to find the results. The study concluded a set of findings among them the following - Analysis results showed that homes of residential care play a vital role in elderly psycho adaptation.Such adaptation was shown through ability on make decisions, homes accommodation enabling elderly to overcome feelings of loneliness, elderly feeling that their lives have value. - The results also show that the residential care homes play a vital role in elderly social adaptation.

Asking for assistance from supervisors was the strongest indicator of social adaptation. .

- Results also showed the role of residential care homes in achieving elderly family adaptation through.

Various indicators among them reducing conflicts with their families and solving problems their problems with their families - Analysis also shows the role of residential care homes in achieving dealing adaptation.

Such adaptation is clear through various indicators such as: respecting all of those who provides the elderly with any assistance.

Elderly feeling comfortable due to their proximity to inmates and the elderly feeling that their presence in the homes،compelled them to act wisely with others - Analysis showed that the institutions of residential care play a role in strengthening relations inmates with supervisors has revealed the results and there are strong indications was the respect for supervisors for the elderly and construction of the elderly to friendly relations with supervisors and communication elderly Permanent with supervisors and support the principle of exchange with supervisors. - The results indicate that the residential care homes play a major role in strengthen elderly relationships with their supervisors،families, with each other elderly, and with their friends. - The results showed that the services provided residential care homes seek to achieve elderly social adaptation.

Such adaptation is clear through many indicators such as availability of health service permanently, providing meals that fit with elderly needs, providing comfortable housing, air-conditioning and heating for housing facilities and maintaining cleanliness of homes facilities - The relation of personal and social variables with the role of residential care homes in all study dimension is ranging between existing of such relations or not.
