Abstract EN

This experiment aimed to know the effect of using three types of local produced probiotics as an early feeding of broiler chicks in hatcher regarding her performanceat 35 day of age.

.

The different types of local probiotics as following: First probiotic product contains locally isolated Bifidobacterium from cecum of healthy adult chickens.

The isolated bacteria were grown on skim milk media and carried on soybean meal powder; the second probiotic product contains standard human source isolation of Bifi.

longum BB536.The isolated bacteria were grown on skim milk media and carried on soybean powder, the third probiotic product contains mixture of frist and second probiotic with ratio 1:1.

This experiment was carried out at the poultry farm of the college of Agriculture, University of Baghdad from 19/9/2011 to 25/10/2011.

A total of 300 one – day old non-sexed chicks of Ross-308 strain were randomly distributed on five treatments at chicks transport boxes in hatcher, each treatment consists of 60 birds with 3 replicates (20 birds each), the treatment were: Treatment 1 (Negative control) = chicks without any offered until arrived farm.

Treatment 2 (Positive control) = chicks were offered standard feed in hatcher by Spray and sticked with paste in transport boxes corners.

Treatment 3 = chicks were offered on first probiotic in hatcher by spray sticked with paste in transport boxes corners.

Treatment 4= chicks were offered on second probiotic in hacther by spray and sticked with paste in transport boxes corners.

Treatment 5 = chicks were offered on third probiotic in hatcher by spray and sticked with paste in transport boxes corners The treatment (T5) significantly affect (p<0.05) in average body weight compared than other Treatments in first week, and then (T1) in second week, whereas using the three kinds of probiotics (T3, T4, T5) showed significant (p<0.05) effect in total weight again.

Significant feed intake reduced (p<0.05) in (T2) and treatment feed with probiotics (1, 2) and (3) in second week, also significant improvement (p<0.05) was observed on feed conversion efficiency in (T5) at first three weeks compared with (T1).

The result indicted that using three types of probiotics as an early feeding had best effect on average body weight and total weight again and feed conversion efficiency of three weeks age.
