Abstract EN

This study aims to recognize the role of the Palestinian university student in developing the local community through voluntary work and the obstacles that impede their involvement due to their views.

The participants of the sample were 115 males and females.

To achieve the objects of the study.

The researcher conducted a questionnaire which measured the Palestinian youth developing the local community through voluntary work The study concludes .1There is a medium degree in the role of the university students in developing the local community through voluntary work.

The mathematical means was (3.53) with a standard deviation (0.52 .) .2The degree of the obstacles that impede the student's involvement in voluntary work was of a medium degree .the mathematical mean was (3.31) and with a standard deviation (0.41 .3There is not statistical differences at the level (0.05>a) among the student role in developing the local community through voluntary work in a accordance to the students themselves and to the gender variable and the major variable .5There is not statistical differences at the level (0.05>a) among the obstacles that impede their voluntary involvement due to the gender variables and the major variables .

Recommendation .1To encourage university students to take part in voluntary activities through designing required-course project for community services .2To value the voluntary work in the society in order to conserve it's important to the community
