Abstract EN

This research deals with one of the achievements of our critical inheritance, IbnTabataba's book ((Iyar AL-Shier)) is considered to be a distinguished critical book for it's pure concentration on poetry as an art.

The main concern of this book is poetry metier.

The book consider poetry as a qualitatine and artistic skill which has a clear impact on recipients.

The poet should select what makes his language supreme through a specific choice of rhetorical devices.

In order to achieve IbnTabataba's poetic skill, the poem should be distinguishable in its images, meanings, and strcture.

Accordingly.

IbnTabataba was known to be both an analyst and a critic, he has one main aim in his works, which is poetry métier.

His efforts result in his book ((Iyar AL-Shier- the Gauge of poetry)) in which he describes accurately poetry as an art.

He gines a smprehensine description of its structure, meaning and nature.

Therefore, the researcher highly appreciates the distinguished critical efforts of Tabataba, which results from his diligence in using rhetoric and this paves the way for many generations of poets to realize and understand this art.

The researcher, therefor, adopts the poet's critical theses which represent his realization and understanding of this art.
