Abstract EN

The research reached results of studying the impact of floods on the city of Baghdad in two aspects: First / direct losses caused by the floods in the sinking of people, animals, plants and the horror and destruction of souls and the loss of their money, public and private property as well as the destruction of irrigation canals and agricultural lands and destroying the house of people and their shops and the buildings of science and worship, hospitals and shops so that the Abbasid caliph and his entourage succeed him have not been spared by the dangers of flooding.

Second / indirect losses resulting from flooding the city of Baghdad, the occurrence of diseases and epidemics, social, environmental and economic problems in the high prices and widespread hunger, poverty and wasted efforts to rebuild what was destroyed by floods and devastated by that.
