The trilateral instruments are a unique phenomenon in the Arabic Language.
Though grammarians have referred to some of them, they did not discuss in detail their characteristics and importance.
This article endeavors to discuss fully the mothers of trilateral instruments in grammar by pinpointing the characteristics that qualify each of these instruments.
The article also aims to delineate the notion of instrument and the notion of Mother Instrument.
