Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify phytophagous mites and their predators on natural vegetation surrounding three lemon orchards at different sites in Latakia governorate, Syria: Latakia City, Salloren, and Ein-Albeda.

Plant leaves were sampled from early April 2014 until the end of March 2015.

Three phytophagous mites were identified: Tetranychus urticae Koch, Eutetranychus orientalis (Klein) and Panonychus citri (McGregor).

For mite predators, five phytoseiid mite species were identified: [Euseius stipulatus (Athias-Henriot), Amblyseius andersoni (Chant), Iphiseius degenerans (Berlese), Phytoseiulus persimilis Athias-Henriot and Neoseilus californicus (McGregor)], and two predatory insect species [Stethorus gilvifrons (Mulsant) and Chrysoperla carnea Stephens] were also identified.
