For the purpose of identifying the physical and chemical changes occurring in the Tigris River and the impact of the city of Baghdad on the river, three stations were selected along the city.
The samples were collected monthly for one year to study some of the relevant variables (Air and water temperature, turbidity, pH , 02, BOD5, electrical conductivity, total hardness and Ca,Mg hardness,TOC, P04 and N03).
The results showed that Baghdad city have an impact in the following factors: Turbidity and BOD and TOC and P04, while there was no effect is obvious in other factors.
