Abstract EN

The main goal of this research is to seek modernization of Arab national thought through the discusion of the positions of main national Arab trends towards three highly important topics:Role of Islam, Political Authority and Arab unity since the beginning of the second half of twentieth century and the collapse thereof.

The research concentrates on the necessity for modernization of tradition Arabic thought and the prerequisite thereof, so as to produce a new Arabic thought that bridging the necessity of returning back to the genuine sources and modernization.

Main Arab trends consider Islam as a cultural heritage, while it was the creator of the Arab Nation and the main formulator of Arabic identity and Arabic culture.

Arab nationalists also sought for acquisition of the political authority in Arab countries and to achieve the Arab unity with no vision regarding the ways of construction nor to the essence and theoretical framework thereof.

Subsequently, they established dictatorship regimes that persecute their Arab nationals and other ethnical and cultural minorities as well.

The author displays in the context of the research, the new main conceptions that should be introduced into the traditional Arabic thought so as to produce new Arabic thought.
